A fun night for kids. A great night out for parents.

La Crosse Community Theatre’s Family Night Out program makes it easier for families to enjoy live theatre — even when a show isn’t quite right for younger audiences.

While parents attend a mainstage performance, children in Kindergarten through 5th grade enjoy a supervised, creative evening with LCT’s Star Academy team, right next door. Kids participate in hands-on arts activities, enjoy a snack, and leave with something they’ve created — all in a safe, welcoming environment led by experienced teaching artists.

It’s theatre for the whole family… just in different rooms.

What is Family Night Out?

How It Works

On select performance nights, parents can register their child for Family Night Out while attending an LCT mainstage show.

Family Night Out includes:

  • Supervised care by LCT Star Academy staff
  • Theatre-themed arts and crafts activities
  • A snack for each participant
  • A take-home project connected to the evening’s show
  • Convenient drop-off and pick-up aligned with performance times

Drop-off begins before the show, and children can be picked up immediately following the performance — no rushing, no stress.

Upcoming Family Night Out Performances

Arsenic and Old Lace

On September 20 2026 beginning at 12:30pm, parents will enjoy a kid-free afternoon while they enjoy downtown La Crosse and a matinee performance of LCT's Arsenic and Old Lace.

Their children will have their own fun experiencing all the good that the LCT Education program and their staff have to offer!

Enjoy a performance knowing that your children are in good hands and also enjoying the world of theatre!
