A Heartfelt "Thank You" Screening: Reflecting on the film Ghostlight and the Power of Theatre
Last night was a special evening. We gathered with our patron donors and board members for a screening of *Ghostlight*, a film that beautifully encapsulates the transformative power of theatre.
Watching Ghostlight reminded me why theater is so much more than just a form of entertainment. The film, despite its occasional reliance on some outdated theatrical tropes, beautifully captured the essence of what makes theatre a sanctuary—a place where people come to heal, to understand themselves, and to find a community. It reaffirmed my belief that the work we do in theater is vital. We create a space where stories are not just told but lived, where emotions are explored, and where people find a sense of belonging and purpose.
Running a theatre like ours, I see firsthand how it serves as a refuge and a mirror for so many. It’s a privilege to be part of a community that supports such transformative experiences. The stage is where our personal and collective stories converge, offering insight, connection, and, ultimately, healing. The impact of theater goes beyond the curtain call; it resonates in the hearts of those who find solace and understanding within its embrace.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who attended the screening. Your continued support enables us to keep this vital work alive. A special thank you goes to Clara Gelatt, whose brilliant idea and generosity made this screening possible. Clara, your vision and commitment to our community are deeply appreciated.
Together, we are more than just a theatre—we are a community, a family, and a place where art and life intersect in the most meaningful ways. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
Warm regards,
Erik Vose, Executive Director
